Beyond and Between These Walls: A Song Cycle

Beyond and Between These Walls is my first major work in the musical theatre world. I was incredibly blessed with 3 of my peers jumping on board and making this music come to life, along with the wonderful Danielle Hardin on piano. The song cycle deals with two single parents each dealing with their relationship with their only child. A mom struggles with letting her daughter go from under her controlling wing, while a dad struggles with letting his son know some life-shattering news about his mother. Stemming from a 3-note theme, this composition was exciting for me to see how many variations I could develop out of the theme for each character's song.
